Orangutan Houseboating Tour

DAY 1 : Airport – Kumai – Proboscis Tour – Tour Houseboat

Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be picked up by your guide and drive to Kumai for 20 minutes board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 17m by 3.5m with roof upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. The guide's team includes the boatman, a cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the wildlife such as long noses monkey, long tail macaque, birds along the riverside. Dinner and overnight on the boat. simple mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar - helpful guides and boatmen.

DAY 2 : Tour Houseboat – Pondok Tanggui – Camp Leakey – Tour Houseboat

After break fast, Boating up the Sekonyer River to reach Pondok Tanggui. It is the second rehabilitation center that established in 1992. we will enjoy the time to see many babies and juveniles around feeding area at 09.00am, take pictures while having the information from your guide about them. We continue our tour to reach the highlight of National Park, Camp Leakey. It will pass the black river which is full of wildlife within such as many kind of birds, primates, fish, also crocodiles. At 12.00 pm your lunch will be served by our own cook with special various of foods. Arriving at Camp Leakey, we will hiking track into the forest to gain information of the low land rainforest. It is time for you learn about the habitat of our close living relative while observing them as well. We continue our tour by following orangutan feeding program at 14.00. We will enjoy the situation till 16.00 back to the boat, down the stream to Tanjung Harapan. Lunch and dinner will provided on the boat, overnight on houseboating.

DAY 3 : Tour Houseboat – Kumai – Airport

Free morning program on the boat, then boating down the river back to Kumai. Enjoy breakfast at our Klotok. Take a leisurely boat ride before returning to Pangkalan Bun airport through the port city of Kumai. Revive all your senses and let them retain the magic of Tanjung Puting National Park. Listen to the sounds of Kumai all day loudspeakers emanating from tall buildings where swift nests are being commercially harvested. Direct transfer to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination.
